Vinyl 02 "Myself" incl. Anja Schneider Remix

for pre-listening log you in into our sounds area

Two cuts from the excellent recent album ‘Me, Myself and Live’ see a single release with an oustanding remix from Anja Schneider and Paul himself....

The choice of Schneider for remix duties was an obvious one, the pair first met on a shuttle bus to an event and in short stead Paul was co-writing for Anja, becoming part of the driving force behind her huge debut album ‘Beyond the Valley’, now she pulls out all the stops to reciprocate with this standout reworking.

First up on the package is the Anja Schneider remix of ‘Three Weeks’, the opening cut from Paul’s recent album. Here the pair, deconstruct the parts and rebuild things into a deep and hypnotic version that has instant dancefloor appeal stamped all over it. Solid, chunky drums rub up against simple spacey synth lines and warm pads to huge effect. Bearing in mind the superb quality of the original this is a job well done, and a real addition to this great package.

Next we have the original of ‘Three Weeks’, a track named after the extensive time it took to record. Paul had originally intended to record the album in 6-8 weeks, then ended up spending nearly half of his allocated time on this opener. But it has to be said it was worth the effort. This is a slice of solid tech inspired house with subtle vocal elements and a musicality that cuts through the records club based nature. Excellent stuff.

Finally we have Diamant Flute, another winner from the ‘Me, Myself and Live’ album. Deep and highly engaging this again displays Paul outstanding talents as a producer, weaving melodic elements deep into the mix and retaining an incredible underground electronic sound.

Paul Brtschitsch’s ‘Myself Part 2’ is released on Rootknox in September 2009

Vinyl 01 "ME" incl. Kollektiv Turmstraße Remix

for pre-listening log you in into our sounds area

The Rootknox label, borne from the philosophy of a developing tree, presents its next “branch”: the first record of Paul's recently completed album “Me, Myself, and Live” is being prepared for release and will usher in a trilogy in the form of three tracks from the album with a remix thrown in for good measure.

The first track carries the mantra of “me”, the second “myself”, and the third stands for the surtitle “Live”. We're very excited that Kollektiv Turmstrasse did a remix of the popular track “The Dentex” for the first release. Like a gentle summer breeze to the open air of the coming summer, the Dentex swims elegantly through depths of the ocean in a Turmstrasse garment.

“Adiamo” marks Paul's active return to the club music scene. With an organ hook, a rough instrumental, and a practical live arrangement, this number doesn't need a more energetic exit!

Close on its heels comes the original version of “The Dentex”, which gained immense popularity since its digital release and has repeatedly been requested in disc format. “Extend”, a flowery track that shows another side of the Minimal genre, serves as the finale of Paul's album.

Paul Brtschitsch's 5th solo artist album: Me, Myself and Live

One man. Three facets: ME. MYSELF. LIVE.

Paul Brtschitsch is no new comer to dance music, he has been releasing exceptional records for over a decade, recording for the likes of Plus 8, Music Man and Ostgut-Ton. He is rated as one of the best electronic live acts out there, falling into Groove magazine’s top 10 live acts for 2008 and when he’s not recording or performing he can be found producing for others, including Anja Schneider for whom he co-produced the massively successful ‘Beyond the Valley’ album last year.

‘Me, Myself and Live’ is Brtschitsch’s fifth artist album and is a beautiful amalgam of musical elements that displays his obvious love and understanding of electronic music. From the warm pulsating groove of opening cut ‘Three Weeks’ to the ethereal ending that is ‘Extend’ it is clear that this is an emotive and deeply personal album that draws on Paul’s wealth of experience.

The album’s title reflects the importance that live performance plays in Brtschitsch’s musical life and the album itself draws on the energy of his live sets whilst simultaneously providing the fuel for his current stage appearances.

It is hard to pick specific high points from ‘Me, Myself and Live’ as the quality of each piece is truly exceptional. Cuts like ‘Rude Knox’ with its stripped yet powerful techno edge are bound to find huge favour with DJ’s and clubbers alike whilst the melancholic strains of ‘Sugar’ highlight the production talent of Brtschitsch to great effect. All in all this is a truly standout album from one of electronic music’s most exciting producers. Paul Brtschitsch is a name that is set to become ever more familiar and with the release of ‘Me, Myself and Live’ it looks like 2009 just might be his year.

Tracklisting: 01. Three Weeks 02. Adiamo 03. The Dentex 04. Diamant Flute 05. One Morning 06. Rude Knox 07. Wizards & Rabbits 08. Morane 09. Doriana 10. Sugar 11. Extend

new project Britschmalro

Along with number 64 in the Resopal back-catalogue there´s a new producer team joining us for 2009: Paul Brtschitsch who scored so far with releases together with Anja Schneider for Mobilee and by himself on labels like Taksi, Force Inc and his own imprint Rootknox. Paul worked out this release with vocalist and producer MALTE, known from one of germanie’s most profilic labels Playhouse and together with Frankfurt / Main based DJ and producer Rodgau aka ROD. Together they are “BRITSCHMALRO”and with “GROW” they start a modern house roller-coaster-ride.

Separating the grain from the chaff, wash and polish every grain lovingly, and there you have an amazing menu with multiple courses. The result keep us reeling with speechless excitement: „BRITSCHMALRO” pull their energy from the primordial soup, still being timeless and lovingly detailed and coming up with everything that our time lacks so heavily: sex, groove, an extremely futuresque funkiness and – especially HOUSE! This project does not care for genres, they care for themselves!”

As this is not enough, the title track features two stellar remixes on the flip. MAREK HEMMANN presents a power generator equipped version with the right measure of steam and courage. His Version of GROW is a glossily illuminated, sensory-enhanced club production while JACKMATE shows that Chicago and Detroit could be sister cities, in the heart of Stuttgart!

rootknox005_Touse

He’s back in full effect… Paul Brtschitsch’s name has grown synonymous to first class peak time tuneage and this shiny new EP (a foretaste of Paul’s 4th album, which is due for release soon on his own Rootknox imprint!) simply again proves why he’s on top of his league. First up is Touse, which combines the unique elements of Techno and House into an entrancing groove underlined by punchy kicks, sexy yet subtle synths and an intense, hedonistic vibe. Deep down and dirty house music for those who know…

Next up is Salsa 727, and boy, things WILL get sweaty when this one’s on... Paul and Level 6 resident combine forces and explore the very depths of electronic music, with the result being a mesmerizing techno/deep house hybrid that hypnotizes the mind and touches the soul… This is music that matters.

Rootknox 004 "Sneep"

Two dazzling, absolutely mental tracks. Peaktime frenzy!.

cover_004_sneep

Sneep

Stop the presses… Man of the moment Paul Brtschitsch returns after the critically acclaimed Bridge Itch EP on Wolfskuil Recordings with two brand spanking new floorfillers. First one fresh out of the studio is Sneep, a luscious, deeply grooving monster that reflects Paul’s love for intense vibes and warm sounds. This one’s a slow moving, tension-building deep house tune for those midnight moments when things are about to get really hot and heavy. A steamy, sweaty, and sexy dream converted into audio...

Monoplaine (Scorpion Sting Remix)

And then there’s Scorpion Sting, who skillfully remixes Monoplaine into a sense-tickling trip that explores the fine lines between deep house and minimal with a touch of progressive. Thick synth waves, pulsating bass and captivating effects will take you on a journey through the very depths of electronic music.

Paul's tribute to the summmer 2008.

Paul presents his next “12” on the Dutch Label Wolfskuil. The two tracks that together form the 14th release on Wolfskuil are exemplary examples of Paul’s warm, accessible sound and eye for subtle details. The funky bassline in ‘Parkett’ is highly addictive when dropped on the floor, nicely flourished with hints of melody. The drum programming is extremely accurate and versatile, revealing the true effort that has been put into this piece of music.

‘Bellaphonica’ on the flipside is a deep, dubby and psychedelic excursion into the realms of techno. It reminds us of Paul’s early work on Frisbee and Taksi, but undoubtably interpreted from a fresh 2008 angle. The title ‘Bridge Itch’ jokingly refers to the fact that most people find his last name unpronounceable. Hopefully this will help MC’s and radio jocks in the future.

Rootknox Digital Release 003 "The Dentex"

the dentex

The Dentex

The Dentex moves his gleaming body elegantly through the depths of the ocean. But this predatory fish also shows his teeth...just like Paul’s 3rd release on his own label Rootknox! In a springlike ease one catchy melody alternates with the other. They come together as one and let go, they come together and ... disappear like the Dentex in the deep blue… It’s the massive beat fundament showing his teeth, that lets the Dentex dance rhythmically in the depth of the sea.

Apollonia (Paul Brtschitsch Remix)

In the past the original title has been released by Bigeneric on the Interchill Compilation “Devil in the Detail“. Marco Repetto, a versatile producer, is the man behind the pseudonym of Bigeneric. He is also known for drumming the legendary song Eisbär by the band Grauzone in 1981. Once more Paul Brtschitsch demonstrates with his remix, how good he is in blending the colours and spirits of ambient music with the depths of club music. At the latest since his albums of concept like Surftronic and Venex, his talent of story telling on the basis of beats has become inseparable from Brtschitsch’s sound philosophy: Body meets mind music!

Rootknox Digital Release 002 "Spindrift"

spindrift

Spindrift is the second release of Paul Brtschitsch on the label Rootknox. The track describes a timeless deep sound landscape which is developing step by step to an outgrowing hedonistic incident. Deep dub chords fall together with a hypnotic rotating triplet bass line. Minimal hypnotic rhythm structure is combined here with the components of darkness and melodic organ dubs. Once more Brtschitsch is showing us the variety of electronic music. This track is an ode to the hours of the early morning…forgetting the content of simple life.

Traumschwiegersöhne

traumschwiegersoehne

“Traumschwiegersöhne” heisst die Label-Kompilation zum dreißigsten Release vom Kölner Label Karmarouge. Paul steuert hierfür einen Titel zusammen mit Labelgründer Gabriel Ananda bei. “Morning Glory” umschreibt die Stimmung des Aufeinandertreffens zweier Künstler, der eine unausgeschlafen, der andere ausgeschlafen und hoch motiviert, in einem Studio irgendwo bei Köln-Mühlheim.
